Alco the
locomotive builder was taken over by/ended up as Montreal Locomotive Works
(MLW) who proceeded to manufacture export locos on the same lines as the EMD
G8/G12. The MLWs run in many so-called third world countries and the Editor has
personal knowledge of MLWs in Peru (see PERU
RAIL).
