In the good old
days the railway line ran from Colombo through Anuradhapura and Jaffna to
terminate at Kankesanthurai (KKS). The war put and end to that and now the
railway line beyond Vavuniya is no longer in existence. There are moves to
reopen the line but with the infrastructure virtually non-existent it will be a
long time before Yal Devi does the full run. In the meantime console yourself
with these pics.
